Aadhaar Card

This is how an Aadhaar Card looks like. Your Aadhaar Card will be sent to you by post to the address you mention in your enrolment form. Your enrolment number is mentioned at the top of the Aadhaar Card. This is the number you receive while submitting your Aadhaar Enrolment Form at an Aadhaar enrolment camp. However note that your Enrolment Number is different from your Aadhaar Number, which is mentioned prominently below the first barcode. Your Aadhaar Number is a 12-digit number, which is unique across India.

Note: The numbers, names, address, and barcodes shown in this image are fictitious and not real.

No, AadhaarStatus.com is not affiliated with the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) and does not reproduce / transmit / store in its database any content of UIDAI. For the official website, please visit http://uidai.gov.in

Why is it taking so long for my Aadhaar card?

We appreciate your concern regarding the delay in processing your Aadhaar enrolment. The most common reason for delay in Aadhaar card processing is a huge number of pending applications. As of now, the time taken for issuance of Aadhaar card is typically between 3-9 months. Please be patient.

Why have I not recieved my Aadhaar card while the online status shows delivered?

If you have not received your Aadhaar card even after your online Aadhaar enrolment status shows that printed Aadhaar is delivered to resident by India Post, please ensure that someone else has not received it in your absence. If you are sure that printed Aadhaar was not delivered to the address you mentioned on your Aadhaar enrolment form, please enquire at your nearest post office.

Can I change my address after I have enrolled for Aadhaar?

We regret to inform you that the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) currently does not provide a way to update your residential address after the Aadhaar enrolment form has been submitted. You need to collect your Aadhaar card from the address mentioned in your application form. If you have shifted your residence to a different address, please make an arrangement for someone else to collect the Aadhaar card on your behalf.

Why only one family member has received Aadhaar card?

We have found many cases where Aadhaar card was issued for one member of the family even though the entire family enrolled on the same day. The exact cause of such inconsistency is not known so far.

What shall I do if the website is not working?

The Aadhaar status shown through AadhaarStatus.com is based on the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) website, which is affiliated with the Government of India. We have found that the government website does not work sometimes. Under such circumstances, we recommend you to check your Aadhaar status after a few days.

Why is the image text not working?

While checking the status of your Aadhaar enrolment, if you are being asked to enter the image text again and again, the possible reasons could be:

1. You are not entering the correct image text
Solution: Try entering the correct image text. An image text consists of small letters and numbers.

2. There is a problem with the UIDAI website
Solution: Please wait for some time and try later. You may even like to try the next day.

3. There is a problem with the browser
Solution: If you are using Internet Explorer, try using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. If you do not already have these browsers installed, you can download and install them for free. Simply search Google to download these browsers.
